چکیده
The electrochemical measurement of concentration in molten chloride salts is a valuable tool for the control existing and potential industrial processes, recycling precious materials energy production. techniques commonly used to measure each techniques’ associated theory are discussed. Practices which improve accuracy precision set forth. Exceptionally accurate precise measurements published literature evaluated based on their performance specified ranges. strengths weaknesses most briefly explored. Chronopotentiometry (CP) square wave voltammetry (SWV) with low measurements. SWV was at concentrations, even multi-analyte mixtures. CP only single analyte Open-circuit potentiometry (OCP) single-analyte mixtures but yields large errors multianalyte Cyclic (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) normal pulse (NPV) across all NPV exceptionally well suited melts multiple electroactive species.

Electrochemical Synthesis of Niobium-Hafnium Coatings in Molten Salts
Graphite is widely used in technology because of its unique properties. A drawback of graphite is its low heat resistance in oxidizing atmospheres. To increase its heat resistance, Nb-Hf protective coatings were synthesized. Electrodeposition of niobium coatings on graphite with subsequent precise surface alloying of niobium with hafnium was studied. Electrochemical synthesis of Nb-Hf coatings ...

TYPES OF MELTS From the practical viewpoint, melts may be classified according to melting points which may limit the available techniques. The lowest melting, with working temperatures up to 250°, are typified by the LiNO3—NaNO3— KNO3 eutectic, NaNO3—KNO3 eutectic, LiClO4, and ammonium formate. With these solvents it is possible to use the dropping mercury electrode, or hanging mercury drop ele...
متن کاملElectrochemical Reduction of Indium (III) in Molten Lithium Chloride - Potassium Chloride Eutectic
The dependence of indium electro de potential vs. log. concentration of indium (III) is linear and the slopes determined are comparable with the slopes calculated from the Nernst equation, assuming n = 3. The potential of In/ln(III) has been determined to be 0.805 ± 0.003 V with respect to Pt/PtC12 (1 M). At 693 K the free energy of formation of the indium(III) chloride in a 1 M solution is -32...
متن کاملElectrochemical Reduction of Molybdenum(VI) Compounds in Molten Lithium Chloride-Potassium Chloride Eutectic
Molybdenum(VI) oxide reacts with molten LiC1-KCI eutectie at 450 ~ to form MOO2C12, which probably is present as an anion MoO2Cl4 =, and pyromolybdate, Mo207 =. Both of these species are electrochemically reduced to MOO2, which can be reoxidized to MoO2CI2 by current reversal. A second reduction step, observed whether MoO3 or Mo2072is added to the melt, can be attributed to the reduction of MoO...

Chronopotent iometry of chromate in the presence of NiC12 in molten LiCIKCI eutectic reveals a diffusion controlled, three electron reduct ion step. In the presence of excess NiC12, chromate is reduced at --0.35V vs. P t ( I I ) / P t reference electrode and the electroactive species responsible for the chronopotentiometric wave is estimated to have a diffusion coefficient of 1.06 9 10 -5 cm 2 ...
